Wills and Probate
OUR WILLS AND PROBATE SERVICES
Powers of Attorney
No one likes to think about getting older and the problems that come with age, but with careful planning you can ensure that you maintain independence and dignity. Your voice will still be heard, even if you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
We can help you to plan for the future by making Lasting Powers of Attorney that will give you and your family peace of mind.
We can assist you in the preparation and registration of these important and powerful documents, advise you on the best course of action for you, and support you and your attorneys in the future.
Helping others with Powers of Attorney
Unfortunately some people leave it too late before asking for help. If you know someone who is unable to make a power of attorney because they already lack the capacity you can speak to us about applying to the Court of Protection.
Working on your behalf
We can make these applications on your behalf and support you in your role as a court appointed deputy.
In some circumstances Risdons can be appointed by the Court to manage the affairs of those who have no family or friends to assist them.
Choosing the right course of action
Whether you are concerned about property and finance or health and welfare, long-term planning for care fees or short-term solutions for unexpected health issues, we can help you choose the right course of action to suit your individual circumstances.

What our clients say
Wills
Making your choices heard
You can choose to support charities with donations in your memory and you can state how you would like your funeral to be conducted.
Too young to make a Will?
If you have young children you may wish to appoint guardians to look after them, plan for their future, leave money or property in trust. Without a Will your estate is dealt with under the rules of Intestacy which means your money and possessions may ultimately be distributed to members of your family you have never even met.
Working on your behalf
We can make the Will that achieves what you want to happen to your estate.
You can appoint us as your executors and be sure that your estate will be dealt with properly. Our Wills are clear and concise, with the legal terms explained in a way that you can understand them.
We are not a faceless Will writing company, we offer appointments with real people who will listen to what you want.
Why make a Will? Death is still in many ways a taboo subject, but by making a Will and leaving your affairs in good order you are helping your family at a time when it will be most difficult for them.
By making a Will you can say who will receive money or possessions from your estate.
Probate and administration of estates
Our team of experienced probate solicitors and specialist paralegals are here to help you through the process of dealing with the estate of a loved one who has passed away.
During the grieving process it is difficult to concentrate on the financial aspects, the tax forms, and then deal with all those organisations who need to be notified of a death.
Working on your behalf
At Risdons we can take that burden from you and give you peace of mind.
We can support you through the administration process. Come in and talk to one of our team to help you decide what to do next.
