Risdons Solicitors are a traditional high street practice with offices in Taunton, Wellington, Bridgwater, Dulverton,
Minehead and Williton. Due to significant growth, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Legal Cashier to join
the dynamic finance team in our offices in Taunton.
About the Role:
Risdons Solicitors are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our busy and growing property team.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including
sales and purchases (to include new build), transfers of equity, and remortgages. This role requires strong client
service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of residential property transactions from initial instruction to completion.

Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients on a wide range of conveyancing issues.

Conduct title checks, prepare and review contracts, and manage the exchange and completion process.

Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.

Ensure all legal and compliance requirements are met in line with current legislation, SRA regulations

and CQS requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using a case management system.

Deliver excellent client care and maintain strong professional relationships.

Identify and mitigate risks in line with firm policies and procedures.
Requirements:
-
Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive with conveyancing experience.

Minimum [1–3+] years PQE or equivalent experience in residential property law.

Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and associated legislation.

Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Commitment to providing a high standard of client service.
Desirable:
-
Experience in leasehold, new build, and shared ownership transactions.

Experience with complex property matters.
-
Knowledge of anti-money laundering and CQS requirements.
